EDGE-01, also referred to as Paradeisos 01, is the designation of a mysterious man who is one of the most powerful people in DisCity. He is one of the council of decision-makers for Paradeisos, and apparently foremost among the secretive council that governs its actions. Shalom says that his calculations are always spot-on, and any strategy he devises is guaranteed to work perfectly.

01 takes over the communication channel utilized by Rahu's Schorl to interrupt her battle with Donald during their ascent of the black tower in BR-002. He expresses that conflict between them only benefits the Underground, and that he would prefer to talk things out peacefully with the Chief. 01 offers them a choice: the Paradeisos can attempt to stop BR-002 be executing a Purge Order, or by using the Rules through the Chief's Shackles to annihilate both them and the Ring's Corpus at the same time. The Chief is suspicious that Paradeisos would let them choose and disgusted by the emotional blackmail at play, but 01 explains that he is doing it this way because believes the Chief is a genuinely moral person and will choose to sacrifice themself rather than allow the Purge Order to be carried out. 01 confesses that he would choose the Purge Order if it were up to him because he believes that the Chief is of paramount importance, but that if Paradeisos unilaterally chose that end, then the Chief would never willingly work with them again anyway. Still, 01 expresses that this outcome already means they have "hit rock bottom as representatives of humanity".
01 is present when Langley introduces the Chief to Paradeisos for the first time. He says that reason had told him to reject the Chief's plan to destroy the Black Ring, but he has chosen to judge it based on its outcome rather than its logic. He thanks them for buying the City time, and offers to finally provide the Chief with information.

01 responds to the Chief's application for high-level access to information on the Keylan Expedition by trying to brush them off, saying that the files are incomplete and in disarray, and that even the Chief's superiors don't have access. However, when the Chief reveals that they already know much about the Expedition, including the identities of Dreya, Marguerite Nash, and the child Guide, 01 softens. He makes a deal that the Chief will be given access to whatever information the FAC is allowed; in return the Chief will be allowed to take part in future operations investigating the activities of the Phantom Moon and will report back any new info they obtain. 01 also places the condition that, due to the risk of accidents if the Chief is near DisSea, the investigation must be completed before the Moon rises.
After the Chief returns from the past, 01 meets them at the edge of DisSea. He praises the success of their emergency plan to recover the Chief's consciousness and the information that they recovered, saying that Vanilla is a name he had not known before. He tells the Chief that expedition members chose their path and do not need saving; that remembering their sacrifices despite the passage of time is the greatest purpose of the Chief's actions. However, he also says that if the Chief wants to see Vanilla again, they can set out into DisSea again when their head is clear and emotions won't cloud their judgement.
