Commander-In-Chief

Profile

Basic Information

Name: Unknown
Birthplace: Eastside
Affiliation: FAC
Gender: Male

Background

The Commander-In-Chief of the FAC. More than half of his body, including multiple limbs, one eye, and even his heart are mechanical, presumably replacing parts lost in the line of duty. This mechanized body is extremely durable, even able to withstand the full power of the Schorl.

The Commander-In-Chief was appointed to the position in N.F. 103 after his predecessor was forced to step down following the disastrous Eclipse Operation. Due to these circumstances, his early tenure was marked by severely plummeting public confidence in the FAC and retraction of much of the organization’s autonomy and prestige, making it largely subservient to the wills of Nirvana and the City Council. However, over the decade following the disaster, the Commander-In-Chief’s capable leadership built the FAC back up into one of the most heroic and well-respected institutions in DisCity. Unlike most others in positions of power within the City-State, the Commander-In-Chief is adamant about the need to defend Syndicate and its people, refusing to abandon them throughout the District’s many crises.

Role

Main Story

Towering Black

In order to combat BR-002 and prevent the execution of a Purge Order, the Commander-In-Chief directs the FAC to find Donald and use him to locate the Chief, bypassing the Reconstruction Executive Committee and Paradeisos. Donald says that it's people like him who "keep the dream of the city-state alive."

Events

Flora Unfurl

The Commander-In-Chief speaks at a memorial service for the thousands of FAC soldiers who have died in Syndicate since the Ten Days of Rustfire and the reappearance of BR-002. He speaks about the brave sacrifices of those who gave their lives to bring the current crisis to a standstill, and promises that they will soon go on the offensive. The same day, he submits an application to enact the Blockade Operation to the City Council.

As The Garden’s string of assassinations brings to light the corruption that mired the FAC in the immediate aftermath of the Eclipse Operation, the Commander-In-Chief is forced to face the sighting of public opinion on the agency. Confronted by reporters, he publicly challenges the assassins to stop targeting civilians and to face the FAC on the battlefield instead. Shortly thereafter, he is attacked and kidnapped by Coquelic.

Coquelic straps a contamination bomb to the Commander’s body, but it is defused by Christina while he is unconscious. He withstands a direct hit by Schorl’s enforcement of the Rules with minimal damage as her vehicle is stopped by Shalom. The Commander is disapproving of her approach to resolving the issue, likening it to what he sees as the same use of excessive force that she displayed in causing both eruptions of BR-002, but he acknowledges that if Paradeisos calculations showed this to be the least necessary cost, that it must be so. He views this incident as a victory, proving that their plans have frightened the Underground. Still, he condemns Shalom’s lack of humanity in unleashing such an attack with her own subordinate as a casualty before leaving.
